For more than 40 years, we've provided a nurturing, outdoor play-based learning environment where children grow through exploration, creativity, and connection with nature.
We're currently hiring Assistant Teachers to join our supportive and mission-driven team.
Location:* Woodstock, VT (In Person)
Starting Pay: $22/hour-
Full-Time and Part Time, Monday–Friday No nights or weekends

What You'll Do
What You’ll Do As an Assistant Teacher, you’ll support our Lead and Associate Teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging classroom that promotes children’s development through play, exploration, and guided learning. Responsibilities include:
- Supporting children’s daily routines and development
- Assisting in creating a warm, stimulating, and safe classroom environment
- Preparing and assisting with snacks and light cleaning duties
- Helping organize materials and support learning activities
- Building relationships with children, families, and staff
- Maintaining a positive and collaborative attitude
- Completing at least 24 hours of professional development annually
Requirements
Who We’re Looking For Our ideal candidate is:
- Completion of (or willingness to complete) a college-level course in Early Childhood Education, Human Growth & Development, or a related field
- If not yet completed, you must enroll in and complete the Fundamentals of Early Childhood Education course within your first year (we offer financial assistance and mentorship)
Training, mentorship, and professional development are provided, and support is available for candidates working toward Vermont early childhood education requirements.

Rainbow playschool is a non-profit organization in the foothills of Mt. Tom in Woodstock, Vermont. We provide daycare and preschool services with an emphasis on play and outdoor education to children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years old. Play. Learn. Grow.
