4K First Steps Lead Teacher
About This Role
Working in a Church based child care program. We promote a positive working team environment for the development of our students. We are a small staff with low employee turnover who cares about our staff and students. You would be responsible for maintaining a safe play environment. Observe and monitor children's play activities. Communicate with children's parents or guardians about daily activities, behaviors, and related issues. Support children's emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
As a First Steps 4K Lead Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in guiding students through engaging, developmentally-appropriate activities that promote healthy physical, social, and emotional growth.
What You'll Do
- Implement and adhere to the First Steps 4K Guidelines
- Comply with all employer policies and procedures at all times, ensuring a positive and productive work environment
- Develop and execute weekly lesson plans tailored to the First Steps 4K approved curriculum, fostering a rich learning experience
- Regularly update parents and families on their child's daily activities and progress, cultivating a strong sense of community and connection
- Maintain open communication with families through daily or weekly interactions, whether written or in-person
- Establish and maintain a classroom environment that values safety, respect, and inclusivity
- Ensure the cleanliness and sanitation of facilities by performing daily cleaning routines
- Participate in and complete all required First Steps 4K and SC DSS trainings, acquiring essential knowledge and skills
Requirements
- Able to pass a Child Abuse and Neglect Registry background check
- Ability to use a variety of computer applications to complete tasks
- Two-year degree in early childhood or a related field AND must be demonstrate progress towards a four-year education program

- Bachelor’s Degree in early childhood or related field
- Experience working in a play-based environment
- CPR and First Aid Certification
