Jenks Public Schools Community Education Childcare Programs in Jenks, OK is hiring a Assistant Site Coordinator to oversee early childhood education programming. This leadership role requires an active Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and offers $16.68 – $19/Hr.
The Assistant Site Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and success of children in the Before and After School Program. This position involves supporting staff, engaging children, and contributing to daily operations, all while fostering a safe, inclusive, and exciting environment that promotes confidence, social skills, and meaningful experiences.
What You'll Do
- Support the organization and management of the program at the site.
- Contribute to the physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development of children in the program.
- Set an example as a leader and effective role model for developmentally-appropriate practices that align with the program's values and mission.
- Handle all clerical tasks necessary for the operation of the program.
- Maintain accurate attendance records.
- Assist with filing enrollment forms and immunization records for all students.
- Handle confidential information with care and discretion.
- Stay up-to-date on DHS standards and practices.
- Contribute to planning and implementing daily activities with students and prepare materials.
- Supervise Childhood Instructors and Teacher Assistants, establish staffing patterns and schedules, and arrange for substitutes as needed.
- Collaborate with the Site Coordinator on planning and scheduling non-school days.
- Work with the Site Coordinator to purchase replacement supplies, equipment, and items required for maintaining licensing standards.
- Maintain compliance with licensing requirements for the site.
- Communicate with parents through newsletters, bulletin boards, and daily notes.
- Provide a safe and healthy environment that offers protection and supervision to all children enrolled, during all operating hours.
- Assist in developing the program budget.
- Enforce student behavior and discipline policies in accordance with the Elementary, Intermediate, and School Handbooks, promoting self-control, self-direction, and self-esteem.
- Attend workshops and conferences as required by licensing standards and annually.
- Complete all assigned tasks and requirements.
- Participate in 30 hours of Professional Development training annually.
Employment Terms: Twelve (12) month classified hourly contract
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required.
- One of the following is required:
- Hold Child Development Associate (CDA)
- Hold Certificate of Mastery
- Completed thirty (30) college hours including fifteen (15) hours of child development coursework.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree with six (6) hours of child development coursework.
- Experience in daycare/school-age care.
- Meet all state licensing requirements.
- Satisfy all district requirements regarding physical health and citizenship.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.
Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
