Jenks Public Schools Community Education Childcare Programs in Jenks, OK is hiring a Assistant Site Coordinator to oversee early childhood education programming. This leadership role requires an active Child Development Associate (CDA) credential and offers $16.68 – $19/Hr.


The Assistant Site Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the well-being and success of children in the Before and After School Program. This position involves supporting staff, engaging children, and contributing to daily operations, all while fostering a safe, inclusive, and exciting environment that promotes confidence, social skills, and meaningful experiences.

What You'll Do

  1. Support the organization and management of the program at the site.
  2. Contribute to the physical, social-emotional, and cognitive development of children in the program.
  3. Set an example as a leader and effective role model for developmentally-appropriate practices that align with the program's values and mission.
  4. Handle all clerical tasks necessary for the operation of the program.
  5. Maintain accurate attendance records.
  6. Assist with filing enrollment forms and immunization records for all students.
  7. Handle confidential information with care and discretion.
  8. Stay up-to-date on DHS standards and practices.
  9. Contribute to planning and implementing daily activities with students and prepare materials.
  10. Supervise Childhood Instructors and Teacher Assistants, establish staffing patterns and schedules, and arrange for substitutes as needed.
  11. Collaborate with the Site Coordinator on planning and scheduling non-school days.
  12. Work with the Site Coordinator to purchase replacement supplies, equipment, and items required for maintaining licensing standards.
  13. Maintain compliance with licensing requirements for the site.
  14. Communicate with parents through newsletters, bulletin boards, and daily notes.
  15. Provide a safe and healthy environment that offers protection and supervision to all children enrolled, during all operating hours.
  16. Assist in developing the program budget.
  17. Enforce student behavior and discipline policies in accordance with the Elementary, Intermediate, and School Handbooks, promoting self-control, self-direction, and self-esteem.
  18. Attend workshops and conferences as required by licensing standards and annually.
  19. Complete all assigned tasks and requirements.
  20. Participate in 30 hours of Professional Development training annually.

Employment Terms: Twelve (12) month classified hourly contract

Requirements

  1. High School diploma or GED required.
  2. One of the following is required:
  3. Hold Child Development Associate (CDA)
  4. Hold Certificate of Mastery
  5. Completed thirty (30) college hours including fifteen (15) hours of child development coursework.
  6. Hold a Bachelor’s degree with six (6) hours of child development coursework.
  7. Experience in daycare/school-age care.
  8. Meet all state licensing requirements.
  9. Satisfy all district requirements regarding physical health and citizenship.
  10. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend at the waist; stoop, kneel, crouch; lift/move up to 20 pounds; handle objects and tools with hands; repetitive use of fingers and hands.

 

Occasional Requirements: Reach with hands and arms overhead, above shoulder and horizontally; lift/move up to 40 pounds.

 

Visual Requirements: Close, color, peripheral, depth perception, ability to adjust focus.

 

Hearing/Speaking Requirements: Adequate to exchange information.
