What You'll Do

• Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment for young children.
• Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans and learning experiences.
• Implement Creative Curriculum and support children's growth across developmental domains.
• Establish consistent classroom routines, schedules, and transitions.
• Build strong, positive relationships with children and families.
• Support children's social-emotional development, communication, self-regulation, and independence.
• Use positive behavior strategies and the Pyramid Model/PBIS to teach appropriate behaviors.
• Provide individualized support using UDL and differentiated strategies.
• Maintain active supervision and ensure children's health and safety at all times.
• Follow required DOH/DOE regulations, classroom ratios, health and safety procedures, and center policies.
• Observe, document, and assess children's development and use observations to guide instruction.
• Complete lesson plans, observations, documentation, and assessments through SmartTeach.

Requirements

CDA, Bachelor's Degree, or Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education

Candidates who are not currently certified must be actively working toward meeting certification requirements.

Nice to Have

New York State teaching certification in Early Childhood Education.

Experience working with 2-year-old children.

Knowledge of Creative Curriculum, UDL, Pyramid Model/PBIS, ELOF, ECERS, and developmentally appropriate practices.
