Infant Room Teacher
About This Role
Infant Room Teacher at independent child care center. Hours approximately 8-5, Monday-Friday. Our kiddos are 8 months to around 18-24 months. You would have up to 4 students alone, or up to 8 with a second teacher. Duties include feeding, changing, napping, and playing with the toddlers. Keeping your room clean and in order, doing daily curriculum, 2 daily recesses, and communicating with parents are part of your duties also. As an independent center, we make our own policies within DCYF regulations. Director is involved in all aspects of the center. We have an open door policy, and strive to be a harmonious working environment.
What You'll Do
- Safety first! Supervise the classroom to keep the children safe.
- Play with the children - reading, building with blocks, dancing and singing, encouraging children in their free play, supervising outdoor play
- Care for children - washing hands, changing diapers, helping children to settle for nap, helping with meals and bottles
- Teach children - support their language acquisition by talking freely to them and assist with daily learning activities.
- Clean up - keep the classroom clean by following set cleaning schedule
- Have fun with the children - snuggles, hugs, high-fives, fist bumps, and smiles are things that you will receive from the kiddos
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a high school diploma or GED - or be working towards this.
- Be able to pass a fingerprinted background check
- Be willing to do State required education at home
- Be reliable and dependable
- Have reliable transportation to Snoqualmie daily
- Be able to lift up to 30 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
Nice to Have
- Experience in Early Childhood Education, specifically with Waddler/Toddlers
