Teaching Assistant
About This Role
The Teaching Assistant will work closely with the Lead Teacher and other staff members to support the daily operations of the classroom, assist with implementing curriculum, and ensure the safety and well-being of all children in accordance with Texas minimum standards for childcare centers.
What You'll Do
- Assist Lead Teacher: Support the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and activities that promote children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
- Child Supervision: Supervise and interact with children during playtime, meals, and other activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Classroom Assistance: Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment conducive to learning and exploration.
- Individualized Support: Provide individualized attention and assistance to children as needed, including helping with tasks such as toileting, dressing, and feeding.
- Parent Communication: Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, providing updates on their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns that may arise during care.
- Health and Safety: Follow all health and safety protocols outlined in Texas Minimum Standards for Childcare Centers, including maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, and proper sanitation practices. And handwashing guidelines.
- Documentation: Assist with maintaining accurate records of children's attendance, activities, and developmental milestones as required by licensing regulations and TRS.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other teachers and staff members to plan and coordinate activities, share ideas, and support each other in providing high-quality care and education for children.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- 1 year of experience working in a licensed childcare center or similar setting preferred.
- CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Knowledge of Texas Minimum Standards for Childcare Centers.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from Lead Teachers and supervisors.
- Patience, flexibility, and a genuine passion for working with young children.
Nice to Have

appropriate curriculum. FA is a planned Christian weekday
education program for ages 6 weeks- 5 years with an after school
program.
