About This Role
We are seeking a reliable, energetic, and nurturing Part-Time Afternoon Preschool Teacher or Assistant Teacher to join our team at Little Learners Academy. In this role, you will support or lead our afternoon preschool classroom, guiding children through transitions, afternoon snack, and engaging post-nap activities. Typical hours are 2:30-6:30pm M-F.
What You'll Do
Classroom Supervision: Maintain a safe, positive, and organized classroom environment during afternoon routines, transitions, and outdoor play.
Routine Care: Assist children with pm snack, handwashing, and bathroom transitions/diapering.
Afternoon Activities: Lead or assist with afternoon activities, including fine/gross motor skills, art, center play and open-ended sensory play.
Family Communication: Greet parents warmly during afternoon pick-up and provide brief, positive updates on their child’s day.
Cleanliness & Safety: Help sanitize materials, clean the classroom at the end of the day, and ensure strict compliance with licensing safety standards.
Requirements
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential is a plus but not necessary.
Experience: Experience working with preschool-aged children (ages 2–5) in a licensed center, camp, or babysitting setting is preferred.
Certifications: Current CPR and First Aid certifications, or a willingness to obtain them quickly upon hire.
