What You'll Do
Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Provide strategic direction and overall management of the childcare center, aligning operations with mission-driven goals.
- Lead personnel management efforts, including supervising staff, conducting faculty evaluations, and supporting professional development initiatives.
- Oversee budgeting processes, manage financial resources effectively, and ensure fiscal responsibility across all programs.
- Cultivate relationships with families, community partners to enhance program visibility and support fundraising efforts.
- Ensure compliance with all NYS OCFS Regulations.
- Lead staff meetings, facilitate instructional leadership in education practices, and promote a positive organizational culture focused on continuous improvement.
- Manage school administrative functions such as enrollment procedures, record keeping, and policy development to maintain operational excellence.
Requirements
- At least two full years experience in administrative leadership or executive management within early childhood or K-12 education settings.
- At least two full years of teaching in a child daycare center, family daycare center, or other early childhood program.
- Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, or a related field
- Extensive background in personnel management including supervising staff, faculty evaluation, and managing classroom or program quality assurance.
- Experience in managing budgets.
- Skilled in strategic planning, fundraising initiatives, public speaking engagements, and community outreach efforts.
- Prior work with students from diverse backgrounds in early childhood or K-12 environments is highly desirable.

About Cortland Child Development Program
History
The Cortland Child Development Day Care Program began operation in 1974 to provide early care and education for the children of parents who work or attend school.
We are a not-for-profit agency, licensed by the State of New York. Our Programs are available to infants through preschoolers and children needing school-age recreational care on a year-round basis, open many of the days our public schools are closed. Enrollment priority is given to children with special challenges.
Mission
The Cortland Child Development Centers will provide safe and nurturing environments with opportunities for creative learning:
- Nurturing supervision will be given to infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged children while parents are working or pursuing their own education.
- A sliding scale, unique to household composition, will encourage accessibility and affordability for the diverse cultures we serve.
