About This Role

We are seeking a caring and dependable 4K First Steps Assistant Teacher to support the lead teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. This role assists with daily classroom activities while following South Carolina First Steps and DSS guidelines.

What You'll Do

  • Support the lead teacher with daily classroom routines and activities
  • Assist with supervising children and maintaining required ratios
  • Help prepare materials and support lesson plans
  • Promote positive behavior and social skills
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
  • Assist with documentation and daily communication as needed
  • Follow all DSS licensing, health, safety, and First Steps requirements

Requirements

  • Completion of ECD 101 (Introduction to Early Childhood Education)
  • Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred
  • Willingness to complete required training and professional development
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass background checks and fingerprinting
  • Reliable, patient, and able to work as part of a team
