Infant Teacher
About This Role
The Infant Teacher is responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for infants in our care. This position focuses on building strong, responsive relationships with each child while supporting their individual needs, routines, and developmental milestones.
The Infant Teacher will provide attentive care throughout the day, including feeding, diapering, soothing, nap routines, and maintaining a clean and safe classroom environment. In addition to providing quality care, the teacher will create meaningful learning experiences that encourage infants’ social-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language development.
The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, nurturing, and passionate about working with infants. Strong communication skills, teamwork, and the ability to recognize and respond to each child’s individual needs are essential. What You'll Do
- Provide safe, nurturing, and responsive care for infants.
- Follow individual feeding, sleeping, diapering, and care routines.
- Plan and provide developmentally appropriate learning activities.
- Support each child’s social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom.
- Communicate with families about their child’s daily experiences and development.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and team members.
- Follow all health, safety, and center policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Experience working with infants or young children preferred (willing to train the right person)
- Must pass a caregiver background check
- Complete required Wisconsin child care training, including CPR, mandated reporter and Abusive Head Trauma
- Ability to provide safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate care.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
Nice to Have
- Previous experience working with infants or in a child care setting
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) coursework
- Wisconsin Registry training and/or credentials
- Infant & Toddler experience
