About This Role
The Teacher plays a crucial role in creating a cohesive and stimulating learning environment for children, focusing on their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Key responsibilities include implementing the Creative Curriculum Play-Based Study (3K/Pre-K) and effectively communicating with children and adults. The Teacher must be able to foster a safe and engaging classroom environment and collaborate with the team to ensure children's success.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement a child-centered program that promotes social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of enrolled scholars, aligned with the Creative Curriculum Play-Based Study (3k/PreK).
- Collaborate with Aim High Leadership Center staff to plan weekly activities and develop effective lesson plans.
- Design daily lesson plans aligned with Common Core standards and Pre-K for All Quality Standards.
- Attend all required staff meetings, in-service training, and professional developments offered by the DOE/DECE.
- Create a well-organized, safe, and attractive classroom environment that fosters children's optimal growth and development.
- Build positive relationships with each child, promoting self-esteem, self-discipline, and self-adaptive skills including toileting.
- Establish a positive rapport with each scholar's family, sharing information about their child's day at the Center.
- Conduct regular parent conferences to discuss each scholar's growth and development.
- Coordinate educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
- Support toilet training efforts
- Model and coach teaching team success, encouraging collaboration and teamwork.
- Plan age-appropriate activities to engage children and promote social, cognitive, and emotional growth.
- Maintain regular communication with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and conferences.
- Ensure the Center's policies and state regulations are met.
- Maintain a healthy classroom environment, adhering to hygiene, cleanliness, and safety standards.
- Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to ensure they follow planned activities, safety standards, and Center policies.
- Maintain accurate records and forms.
- Pursue ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills.
Requirements
- BA in Early Childhood Education certified or on study plan.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience.
- Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
- Must have Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.

- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- Strong understanding of child development.
