About This Role

This position may include working with children ages 1-5. We are looking to hire for the 2026-2027 school year which begins in August. Our purpose is to find the right fit for our school and our team and we are starting early in order to do so.

What You'll Do
- Create a safe classroom environment that is clean, organized, and child‑friendly
- Teach basic concepts such as letters, numbers, hygiene, and early social behaviors
- Manage classroom behavior using routines, rules, and positive reinforcement
- Supervise activities including playtime, meals, bathroom breaks, and nap time
- Support social–emotional development by encouraging sharing, cooperation, and conflict resolution
- Provide Support in multiple classrooms and age ranges
- Track child development through observation, assessment, and documentation
- Organize classroom materials and prepare supplies for daily activities
- Collaborate with staff such as aides, specialists, and administrators
- Prepare children for kindergarten by building early academic and social readiness skills
Requirements
- Minimum Education — Must have a high school diploma.
- Schedule Requirements — Must be able to work 5-days a week from 8:45am-3:45pm (minumim) to 8:45pm-5:30pm (Maxmum).
- Initial childcare training — Required training often includes CPR/First Aid, child development, child abuse reporting, SIDS, shaken baby syndrome, emergency preparedness, and safety procedures.
- Background checks — State of Nevada requires fingerprinting and criminal background checks for anyone working with children.
- Professional competencies — Educators must demonstrate knowledge of child development, learning environments, family engagement, and professionalism, as outlined by NAEYC standards.
- Soft skills & interpersonal abilities — Strong communication, creativity, patience, and classroom‑management skills are essential for working with young children.
- Ongoing training —The State of Nevada requires annual continuing education hours to maintain employment or licensure in childcare settings.

- Preferred Education —Some ECE College Prefered
- Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential — National certification showing advanced early‑childhood knowledge
- Associates/Bachelor’s degree in ECE or related field — Demonstrates deeper understanding of child development
- Special education experience — Ability to support children with IEPs or developmental delays
- Bilingual or multilingual skills — Valuable for diverse classrooms and family communication
- Training in social–emotional learning — Strengthens emotional regulation and classroom culture
- Knowledge of curriculum models — Creative Curriculum, HighScope, Montessori, Reggio Emilia
- Behavior‑management training — Pyramis Model, Conscious Discipline, PBIS, trauma‑informed care
- Classroom technology skills — Digital portfolios, tablets, early‑learning apps
- Strong parent‑communication abilities — Conferences, newsletters, daily reports
- Nature‑based teaching experience — Useful for outdoor or play‑based programs
- Safety Measures — Goes beyond basic safety requirements
- Leadership or mentoring experience — Helpful for lead teacher or team‑based roles
