Afterschool Teacher

What You'll Do

Responsibilities

• Provide attentive supervision throughout afterschool hours
• Welcome children and help them transition into the program
• Assist with homework, reading, and other school-related tasks
• Organize games, crafts, projects, and recreational activities
• Encourage creativity, cooperation, responsibility, and respectful behavior
• Provide age-appropriate guidance when resolving conflicts
• Assist with snacks and scheduled daily routines
• Maintain accurate attendance and program records
• Keep activity spaces clean, safe, and organized
• Observe children's behavior and respond appropriately to their needs
• Maintain professional communication with parents and guardians
• Coordinate with other staff to ensure smooth daily operations
• Follow established safety, childcare, and program procedures

Requirements

Qualifications

• CDA, TCC, Associate’s Degree, or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Previous afterschool teaching experience preferred.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
• Must successfully complete all required background checks.
• Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills.
