About This Role
We are seeking a reliable, calm, and respectful team member to assist in a Montessori Primary (ages 3–6) classroom. This role works consistently within one classroom, supporting the classroom staff by providing coverage for breaks, planning time, and meetings while helping maintain a stable, nurturing environment for the children.
The Support staff member will uphold the integrity of the prepared environment by following established classroom routines, supporting children’s independence, and offering gentle, respectful guidance when needed. Responsibilities include supervising children during work cycles, assisting with transitions, maintaining an orderly and inviting classroom, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
The ideal candidate is observant, dependable, and comfortable stepping into a leadership role when needed, while still supporting established classroom practices. A strong understanding of Montessori principles—or a willingness to learn—is essential.

What You'll Do
- Provide classroom coverage during breaks, planning time, and meetings
- Supervise and support children during work cycles and transitions
- Maintain a calm, orderly, and prepared classroom environment
- Follow established classroom routines and uphold Montessori practices
- Support children’s independence and model respectful behavior
- Assist with classroom setup, cleanup, and material care
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times
- Communicate effectively with the classroom staff
Requirements
- Experience working with children ages 3–6 in a classroom or childcare setting preferred
- Understanding of Montessori philosophy or willingness to learn and follow Montessori practices
- Ability to confidently lead the classroom during teacher breaks, planning time, and meetings
- Strong observation skills and ability to support children with minimal disruption to their work
- Calm, patient, and respectful approach to guiding children’s behavior
- Reliable, punctual, and consistent in attendance
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to pass required background checks and meet state licensing requirements
