What You'll Do
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that support infant development stages, including motor skills, language acquisition, and social interaction
- Ensure the safety and well-being of infants through vigilant supervision, proper child supervision techniques, and adherence to safety protocols such as pediatric first aid and first aid procedures
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages curiosity and exploration while maintaining classroom management standards
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians about their child's progress, milestones, and daily activities to build strong partnerships
- Support infants with daily routines such as feeding, diapering, nap times, and sensory activities in accordance with individual needs
- Maintain accurate records of each child's development progress, health information, and incident reports following mandated reporting laws
- Collaborate with team members to create inclusive classroom experiences that accommodate children with diverse needs or disabilities
Requirements
- Meet all applicable state licensing requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; early childhood education coursework preferred.
- Must pass required background checks and meet applicable health/licensing requirements and kept in a current status.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain as required.
- Complete a mandated reporter and sexual harassment training before starting and The Care4Kids health & safety training within 90 days of employment.
- Previous experience working with infant children preferred.
- Strong communication and classroom-management skills.
- Patient, creative, dependable, and able to maintain a positive attitude.
- Safely lift, carry, hold, feed, change and comfort young children as required.
- Be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and move throughout the classroom and playgrounds.
- Participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Be able to safely supervise and participate in indoor and outdoor activities.
- Respond quickly and calmy to safety during emergency situations.
Nice to Have
Experience with children is required. Early childhood degree and Head Teacher certificate preferred but not required.
