What You'll Do
Role Overview: You will support the Lead Teacher in daily operations, ensuring every child receives individual attention and care in a high-standards environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Instructional Support: Assist in the execution of lesson plans and small-group activities.
- Supervision & Safety: Ensure the constant supervision of children, maintaining strict adherence to Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) licensing rules.
- Environment Maintenance: Assist in maintaining a clean, sanitized, and inviting classroom that meets SUTQ environmental rating scales.
- Daily Care: Provide attentive care for children’s physical needs, including meal times, transitions, and hygiene.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead Teacher to document observations and support classroom goals.
Requirements
To help us reach our Gold rating goals, we are looking for candidates who meet the following:
- Education (Lead): CDA, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education (or a related field) is highly preferred.
- Education (Assistant): High School Diploma/GED required; current enrollment in a CDA program or ECE coursework is a plus.
- OCCRRA Profile: Must have (or be willing to create) an active Ohio Child Care Resource and Referral Association (OCCRRA) profile.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a BCI and FBI criminal background check as required by Ohio law.
- Experience: Previous experience in a licensed childcare setting is preferred; knowledge of SUTQ standards is a significant advantage.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds and interact with children at their eye level (sitting, kneeling, or standing).
