About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate OEC Certified Head Teacher to lead our early childhood classrooms in Stamford, CT. In this role, you will create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that fosters the social, emotional, and cognitive development of young children. You will oversee classroom management, design engaging curricula, and maintain strong partnerships with families to ensure every child thrives.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the daily operations of the classroom, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for all children.
  • Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with state early learning standards.
  • Assess and document child development and progress, utilizing data to tailor individualized learning plans.
  • Foster strong relationships and maintain open communication with parents through daily updates and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Mentor and supervise assistant teachers and classroom aides to ensure cohesive instructional support.

Requirements

  • Active Head Teacher certificate or approval from the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood (OEC).
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience leading a classroom in a licensed childcare or preschool setting.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid, or willingness to obtain it immediately upon hire.
  • Strong knowledge of Connecticut OEC licensing regulations and early learning standards.

Nice to Have

  • Experience working with diverse student populations and implementing inclusive learning strategies.
  • Familiarity with specific early childhood curricula, such as Creative Curriculum or Montessori methods.
  • Proficiency in utilizing digital classroom management and parent communication apps.
