This Early Childhood Assistant teacher opportunity at Busy Bee Preschool and Early Learning Center serves Mixed / All Ages and requires no formal credential — just relevant experience. Based in Firestone, CO, candidates bring experience in early childhood education and development.


We are looking for a warm, energetic, and dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our early childhood education team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young children’s development

and learning in a collaborative, play-based environment. The Assistant Teacher works closely with the Lead Teacher to implement lesson plans, supervise and engage children, maintain a safe and clean classroom,

and foster positive relationships with children, families, and fellow staff members.

What You'll Do

  • Support the Lead Teacher in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and classroom activities that encourage creativity, exploration, and developmental growth.
  • Engage with children during play, learning activities, and routines to support social-emotional and cognitive development.
  • Help monitor the classroom to ensure a safe and nurturing learning environment.
  • Supervise indoor and outdoor play, ensuring safety and active engagement with children.
  • Assist in maintaining classroom cleanliness and organization, including sanitizing toys, materials, and furniture.
  • Provide individualized attention to children, recognizing different learning styles and developmental needs.
  • Support children in daily self-care routines such as handwashing, toileting, meals, and nap time.
  • Communicate positively and effectively with parents, relaying daily updates, successes, or concerns as directed by the Lead Teacher or Director.
  • Observe and document children’s behavior and developmental progress to help the teaching team provide personalized instruction and care.
  • Participate in classroom planning meetings, staff development workshops, and ongoing training opportunities.
  • Uphold the values and policies of the school and comply with all licensing and health regulations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months of professional child care experience  
  • Eagerness to learn and grow professionally within the field of early childhood education.
  • Strong teamwork, flexibility, and willingness to jump in where needed.
  • Creative mindset and ability to bring fresh ideas to classroom activities and routines.
  • Culturally responsive and inclusive approach to working with diverse children and families.
  • Dependable 
  • High level of integrity 
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills. 
  • Ability to multi-task 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills 
  • A strong understanding of child development. 
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.( or willing to obtain)
