Lead Teacher - One Year Old Classroom
About This Role
Cassville Nursery in Jackson, NJ is seeking a qualified Lead Teacher - One Year Old Classroom to work with Infant / Toddler (0–2) in a center-based environment. This position requires an active Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
We seek a dedicated professional to lead our One Year Old toddler classroom as our new Lead Teacher!
As a successful candidate, you will possess a strong work ethic, punctuality, and excellent classroom management skills.
Don't worry if you need some training - we're happy to provide it! We offer CDA training through the state at no charge to the right candidate.
Please note that we operate on a standard Monday-to-Friday schedule from 6:30am to 6:00pm, closing only on Christmas Day and Thanksgiving Day. You'll be expected to work one or two designated holidays per year, such as New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and the day after Thanksgiving.
Cell phone and smart watch use are strictly prohibited while supervising our children.
This position will be full-time in September 2026, but we're open to negotiating part-time arrangements. In the meantime, you'll work alongside our current Lead Teacher and complete various trainings.

What You'll Do
Key responsibilities include:
- Implementing the Creative Curriculum in our nursery school program
- Ensuring adherence to Grow NJ Kids guidelines
- Providing essential care such as diapering and feeding
- Ensuring toddlers get a restful nap
- Supervising children at all times
- Maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment
Requirements
- Infant Toddler CDA
- Prepare weekly Creative Curriculum lesson plans
- Creative Curriculum knowledge
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Grow NJ Kids guidelines
- Knowledge of Conscious Discipline
