About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Cook to join our brand-new Early Learning School! The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing nutritious, appealing meals for children, ensuring food safety standards are met, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to the well-being and development of children through healthy meal preparation and service.
What You'll Do
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with dietary guidelines and menu plans tailored for children
- Plan menus that meet nutritional standards and accommodate dietary restrictions or allergies
- Ensure all food handling, storage, and preparation adhere to food safety regulations
- Assist with food presentation and portioning to ensure appealing and age-appropriate servings
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas in compliance with health standards
- Manage inventory of food supplies, place orders as needed, and monitor expiration dates
- Collaborate with staff to coordinate meal times and ensure timely service
- Follow all sanitation procedures related to food preparation and storage
- Support catering or special event meal preparations as required
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments, food service, or culinary roles preferred
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation, and cooking techniques suitable for children
- Strong understanding of food safety protocols and proper handling procedures
- Experience with meal preparation
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in food quality and cleanliness
- Certification in food safety or sanitation is desirable but not mandatory
