Lead Teacher - Three Year Old Classroom
About This Role
The Lead Teacher is responsible for managing the classroom environment at Christ Church School, which teaches and inspires over 200 children ages six weeks through Kindergarten. He or she will promote a loving, nurturing, and inclusive Christian community through daily interactions with students, staff and families while teaching lessons that meet the children's academic, emotional, social and spiritual needs.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement developmentally appropriate lessons in daily classes
- Create a comfortable and secure environment by setting clear limits, establishing routines and structure
- Along with the assistant teacher, assist in meeting the age-appropriate physical needs of the children in the classroom (feeding, diapering, toileting, etc)
- Complete bi-annual student assessments to present to parents at parent-teacher conferences
- Model and encourage positive social skills
- Participate in staff training and complete state required professional development
- Maintain professional conduct, appearance, and attitude
Requirements
Education/Experience
High School Diploma or GED
Experience in early childhood education or a related setting
Other relevant experience
Physical Requirements
Ability to navigate stairs
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
