Chroma Early Learning Academy is seeking a reliable and safety-focused Bus Driver to transport children to and from the center, local schools, and approved field trips. The ideal candidate will prioritize student safety, maintain a clean and organized vehicle, and ensure all transportation follows state regulations and company policies. This role also supports smooth transitions during pick-up and drop-off while creating a positive and welcoming experience for children.
What You'll Do
- Safely transport children to and from the center, local schools, and field trips
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained bus/vehicle
- Follow all traffic laws, state regulations, and company transportation policies
- Ensure accurate attendance and accountability of all children during transport
- Assist children with safe boarding and exiting procedures
- Communicate effectively with staff and leadership regarding routes, schedules, and concerns
- Report any incidents, accidents, or maintenance needs promptly
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license (CDL may be required based on vehicle type)
- Clean driving record with no major violations
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Experience driving a bus or transporting children (preferred or required based on needs)
- Knowledge of basic vehicle safety and inspection procedures
- Ability to lift, assist, and supervise children as needed
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and attention to safety
Nice to Have
- Previous childcare or school transportation experience
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Familiarity with childcare licensing transportation regulations (Georgia experience a plus)
- Experience with route planning and time management
- Strong communication and customer service skills
