Chroma Early Learning Academy is seeking a dependable and caring Childcare Cook to prepare nutritious meals and snacks for children in a safe, clean, and organized kitchen environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working in a childcare setting, follows food safety standards, and takes pride in providing healthy meals that support children's growth and development.
What You'll Do
Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and snacks according to approved menus and portion guidelines.
Ensure all meals meet state licensing and nutrition requirements.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen at all times.
Properly store, label, and rotate food items following food safety regulations.
Monitor food inventory and notify management when supplies need to be replenished.
Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment after meal service.
Accommodate documented food allergies and dietary restrictions.
Complete required kitchen cleaning and temperature logs.
Follow all health, sanitation, and safety regulations.
Assist with receiving and organizing food deliveries.
Work cooperatively with center staff to ensure meal service runs smoothly.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Must be 18 years of age or older.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Knowledge of basic food preparation and kitchen sanitation practices preferred.
Ability to work independently while managing time effectively.
Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and food safety.
Must successfully pass all required background screenings in accordance with state childcare regulations.
