What You'll Do
This position serves as the teacher assistant in a classroom of 14 to 20 Head Start children. This position is chiefly responsible for the following core functions of the Head Start program and performs other tasks as needed:
- Planning (5%)
- Program Implementation (60%)
- Family PartnershipBuilding (10%)
- Communication and Service Coordination (10%)
- Record Keeping and Recording (10%)
- On-going Monitoring and Self-Assessment (5%)
Requirements
Qualifications
- Must have Child Development Associate certificate, AA degree preferred, or equivalent experience and commitment to secure C.D.A. certificate within one (1) year.
- Pass physical examination, background check, and fingerprinting screen
- Able to lift a child weighing 40 pounds, 20 times a day if needed
- Driver’s license required for teachers, leadership team and family advocates
- Basic computer literacy in email, word processing and internet navigation (for all positions except for the cook, custodian).
- Maintain certification in CPR and First Aid, if required
