About This Role

We are seeking a dedicated Group Teacher to join our team ASAP. 32 - 40 hours per week. Infant/Toddler age children. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children. As a Lead Teacher, you will play a key role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for our students.


  • Curriculum Implementation:
  • Daycare group teachers develop and implement lesson plans that are aligned with early childhood education standards and promote learning through play. This involves creating engaging activities that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and social skills. 
  • Child Supervision:
  • Ensuring the safety and well-being of children is a primary responsibility. This includes supervising them during classroom activities, outdoor play, and other routines. 
  • Communication with Parents:
  • Teachers regularly communicate with parents about their child's daily experiences, progress, and any concerns or observations. 
  • Classroom Management:
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment is essential.Teachers also manage classroom behavior using positive reinforcement techniques and address any behavioral issues that may arise. 
  • Child Development:
  • Teachers observe and assess children's developmental milestones, tailoring activities to meet individual needs and addressing any developmental delays or concerns. 
  • Collaboration:
  • Daycare teachers often collaborate with other staff members, including teacher assistants, to create a cohesive educational experience for all children. 
  • Record Keeping:
  • Teachers maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and any incidents or observations. 
  • Safety and Health:
  • Ensuring a safe and healthy environment is crucial. This includes maintaining a clean and hazard-free classroom, following hygiene protocols, and addressing any health or safety concerns. 
  • Professional Development:
  • Staying up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education through professional development activities is also an important aspect of their role.

What You'll Do

As a Lead Teacher, you will play a key role in creating a nurturing and stimulating environment for our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Child Development and Learning:
  • Planning and delivering engaging lesson plans that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development. 
  • Creating a stimulating and safe learning environment. 
  • Introducing basic concepts through play, stories, and activities. 
  • Observing and assessing children's progress, identifying areas where they might need extra support. 
  • Adapting teaching methods to meet individual learning styles and needs. 
  • Childcare and Safety:
  • Supervising children at all times, ensuring their safety and well-being. 
  • Assisting with daily needs like feeding, toileting, and dressing. 
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe environment. 
  • Administering first aid and CPR if needed. 
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Communicating effectively with parents about their child's day, progress, and any concerns. 
  • Collaborating with other staff members to plan and implement activities. 
  • Participating in staff meetings and training sessions. 
  • Classroom Management:
  • Establishing and maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment. 
  • Implementing effective classroom management strategies. 
  • Addressing behavioral issues and promoting positive social interactions. 
  • Professional Development:
  • Staying up-to-date on best practices in early childhood education. 
  • Participating in professional development opportunities. 

Requirements

  • One year of teaching experience in a group program for children under six years of age, which may include supervised practice teaching and/or student teaching.
  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development and Child Development Associate (CDA) Credential OR
  • Six college credits in Early Childhood Education or Child Development.

Nice to Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Psychology, Health Care, Nursing, or any other field related to Child Growth and Development.
