Older Infant Lead Teacher
About This Role
The Lead Teacher is responsible for the supervision and management of the classroom and is charged with providing a safe enriching environment and appropriate curriculum that will foster the individual development of the youngsters in care. The Lead Teacher will supervise additional staff or volunteers assigned to assist in the Center, maintain positive communication with families and be a productive team member involved in the effective overall operation of the child care center.

What You'll Do
The classroom responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Plan and conduct a variety of effective, creative and educational activities designed to promote each child's cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.
- Submit to the supervising teacher weekly lesson plans to be reviewed and then post for parents and families.
- Provide comprehensive attention to each child's personal needs.
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly center and state paperwork
- Adhere to the OCFS regulations.
- Create and maintain an inviting, but safe physical environment in accordance with OCFS Standards.
- Prohibit corporal punishment and model positive discipline.
- Practice proper first-aid and universal precautions when needed.
- Maintain 30 hours of trainings for each 2 year license period.
Requirements
- MUST HAVE Childcare Experience (at least 2 years)
- An associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- TB and Physical (must be within a year of hire)
- Cleared through NYS OCFS
- Able to lift 50 lbs. and walk 2 miles unassisted

About Cortland Child Development Program
History
The Cortland Child Development Day Care Program began operation in 1974 to provide early care and education for the children of parents who work or attend school.
We are a not-for-profit agency, licensed by the State of New York. Our Programs are available to infants through preschoolers and children needing school-age recreational care on a year-round basis, open many of the days our public schools are closed. Enrollment priority is given to children with special challenges.
