About This Role
This role is where expert leadership meets heart-centered evening care. As our Infant Room Lead Teacher for the 2nd Shift, you are the guardian of our students' transition from a day of discovery to a peaceful evening. You will lead the classroom environment for infants aged 8 weeks to 18 months, ensuring they have a safe, stimulating, and calm sanctuary to grow and thrive. Your leadership ensures that every child's day ends with the same intentionality and warmth with which it began.

What You'll Do
- Evening Leadership: Lead the classroom team in providing attentive, loving care that prioritizes the emotional and physical well-being of every infant during the second shift.
- Curriculum Integration: Implement sensory-based activities and developmental play that complement the day’s learning, focusing on motor skills and language acquisition in a nurturing evening setting.
- Sanctuary Stewardship: Oversee the maintenance of a clean, safe, and organized "home-away-from-home," ensuring the environment meets the highest health and safety standards for the close of the day.
- Resource Management: Organize and maintain specialized educational materials designed for infant development, ensuring the classroom is prepared for both current evening needs and the following morning's success.
- The "Final Word" in Communication: Serve as the lead contact for parents during pickup, providing detailed, heart-centered updates on their child’s milestones, daily progress, and evening routines.
- Professional Growth: Lead your team by participating in development sessions and meetings, bringing a specialized "second-shift" perspective to our mission of early childhood excellence.
Requirements
- Professional Competencies: A proactive, reliable leader who demonstrates a continuous growth mindset and a commitment to excellence.
- Educational Background: Required: Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred). A valid South Carolina CNA certification is considered a highly desirable asset for this shift.
- Proven Experience: Demonstrated experience in a lead or senior role within an infant care setting.
- Expert Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills with a talent for building quick, meaningful trust with parents during the busy pickup window.
- Collaborative Mindset: The ability to lead and mentor assistant teachers while ensuring a seamless hand-off from the first-shift team.
- Heart & Soul: Deep patience, compassion, and a genuine interest in being the steady, nurturing presence infants need at the end of their day.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to engage in the standing, bending, and lifting required to care for infants safely and effectively.
- Essentials: Current First Aid/CPR certification and the ability to pass all required background clearances.
Schedule:
- Shift: 2nd shift (2:30 PM to 11:30 PM).
- Availability: Full-time or Part-time options available based on academy requirements; may include occasional academy events outside of regular hours.
Nice to Have
- Foundational knowledge of Montessori or STEAM educational frameworks, with a proven ability to adapt and excel in specialized learning environments is strongly preferred.
