The Early Years Center offers an early childhood program that nurtures curious young explorers by creating an environment filled with imagination, adventure, and compassion, honoring each child's unique personality in a secure, loving space.
We are seeking a patient, kind, and energetic Toddler/Twos Teacher to join our early childhood education team in University City, MO. In this role, you will create a safe, engaging, and supportive environment where children aged 15 to 36 months can explore, learn, and grow. You will design age-appropriate activities, foster social-emotional development, and maintain open communication with families to ensure each child thrives during these critical formative years.
What You'll Do
As part of our team, you'll collaborate with your coworkers to create and maintain a welcoming place of exploration and learning.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and implement circle time, small group, and learning center activities.
- Provide attentive care, including assistance with feeding, diapering, and toilet training.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment that meets state licensing standards.
- Participate in occasional family events, such as Trunk or Treat
- Build strong partnerships with parents through daily reports and regular updates.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least 18 years old.
- Enthusiasm and ability to work well with others.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and family care safety registry screening.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain them upon hire.
- Physical stamina to lift up to 35 pounds, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
Nice to Have
- Some experience working with young children.
- Familiarity with the principles of Conscious Discipline.
- Experience using Procare or similar classroom management software.
