About This Role
We are looking to hire someone to teach our 2 year old class on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. This position is a great fit for someone who loves working with young children, enjoys being part of a team, and is excited to help create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. The teacher would be responsible for creating simple lesson plans that cover the Early Learning Standards for a 2 year old. This class has an aide that helps with the day to day processes of the class.
What You'll Do
- Provide attentive supervision and help ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times.
- Follow daily classroom activities, routines, and create a curriculum that follows SC early learning standards.
- Engage with children through play, conversation, small-group activities, and teacher-directed experiences.
- Prepare and organize classroom materials and learning activities.
- Support positive classroom management and age-appropriate guidance.
- Assist children with bathroom routines and potty training, including helping with clothing, wiping, accidents, handwashing, and other toileting needs while encouraging age-appropriate independence.
- Assist with meals, classroom transitions, outdoor play, and other daily care routines.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom, including regular cleaning and sanitizing of classroom materials, bathrooms, and shared spaces.
- Participate in classroom planning and required staff meetings.
- Work collaboratively with the other members of the MDO team support the needs of the children and classroom.
Requirements
- Must meet all South Carolina DSS requirements for the position.
- Must hold a High School Diploma or GED
- Must be physically able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and actively participate in the physical demands of a preschool classroom.
- Must be dependable, patient, flexible, and comfortable working as part of a team.
- Must be excited to share the love of Jesus to their students
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children is preferred.
- Must be willing to complete all required annual training and professional development.
Nice to Have
- Follow all South Carolina DSS regulations and OSLS policies and procedures.
- Complete required annual professional development and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Classroom Teacher or Program Director to support the needs of the program.
