Purpose and Scope:
The Teacher’s assistant is under the direct working supervision and evaluation of the School Director. The position is responsible for the implementation of the vision and purpose of Effort Baptist utilizing “The Great Commandment” and the “The Great Commission” as a “reach” and “teach” strategy to Children.
What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Lead Teacher, provide assistance in the implementation of programs and activities, which may include recreation, arts & Crafts, games, music and age-appropriate curriculum.
- Ability to observe and report to the Lead Teacher any concerns, observations and incidents related to standards of discipline.
- Ability to observe and report to the Lead Teacher any concerns related to the safety and well-being of the students, including a clean and safe environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with Lead Teacher regarding activities/programs, schedules, student behavior and needs, etc.
- Successfully pass a VA State criminal and DSS background check
- Other Duties - Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor. As the ministries grow, it is understood that duties may be added and additional staff and resources allocated to support the growth of the ministry.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience: Prior experience in religious instruction, Sunday school teacher, preferred
Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates ability to implement a dynamic, interactive, creative and experiential education learning program.
- Ability to provide oversight of all children’s activities within the school.
