Lead Teacher
About This Role
Lead teachers are responsible for their own classrooms. They must implement a daily schedule and be consistent with a routine. They must be positive and energetic to provide fun activities and learning.

What You'll Do
- Implement those aspects of the State Minimum Standards for Licensed Childcare Centers, local, state, federal health and safety standards, which apply to position and classroom.
- Implement the center's policies, procedures, goals, and philosophy.
- Be committed to Virginia's Star Quality Initiative (VSQI) and support the VSQI system, which assesses, improves, supports, and displays quality on a 5-star scale.
- Maintain accurate and timely reports, paperwork, and records on all children.
- Maintain supervision of children at all times.
- Greet each person with a smile and friendly manner (always displaying professional and a Christian attitude)
- Promote openness and respect in all relationships.
- When asked, support other team members in all aspects.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
Requirements
High quality child interactions
Enthusiasm & Love of Working with Children. Treat them all
with dignity and respect.
Technical Knowledge of Child Development.
Strong Customer Service & Positive Parent Interactions.
Must have Initiative. Teamwork / Collaboration.
Ability to Effectively Communicate Both Verbally and in Writing.
Reliability and Punctuality
Minimum of 18 years old.
Satisfactory background check, including criminal records, and
child abuse registry.
Must maintain current TB test, CPR, First Aid, and Daily Health
Observations and the MAT certification upon the Director's request.
Must
have a relationship with the Lord, Jesus Christ & attend church regularly.
Must be able to lift children (up to 45lbs) bend, stoop,
stretch, squat, quickly sit/ stand and be physically active with the children.
(i.e sitting on the floor, exercising, running, jumping, dancing, etc..)
May be exposed to blood and other bodily fluids.
May be required to mop the classroom and center floor.
Must have the ability to physically and mentally react to
unexpected circumstances immediately and appropriately.
Must be able to communicate in a manner that children can comprehend your directions in the classroom and on the playground.
All teachers are required to be on their feet 95% of the day and
have a high energy level.
Must attend all staff meetings and daycare-sponsored activities.
