About the Role: We are looking for a dedicated Child Family Advocate to be the ultimate bridge between our families, the community, and our center staff. If you are passionate about helping parents overcome barriers and love connecting people with the resources they need to thrive, we want you on our team yesterday! In this full-time role serving both Ashland and Iron counties, your primary focus will be supporting the whole family to ensure successful outcomes for our youngest learners.
What You'll Do
- Act as a dedicated bridge between families, community resources, center staff, and program staff.
- Support and facilitate the enrollment of children and families into Head Start Preschool and Early Head Start.
- Help parents and caregivers identify and overcome barriers that impact their child’s attendance.
- Conduct regular home and center visits to strengthen communication and connection with families.
- Build positive, goal-oriented relationships using Motivational Interviewing while maintaining safety and confidentiality.
- Gather, aggregate, and analyze family and community data to guide next steps.
Requirements
- Education: Associate degree in social work, human services, or a related field required (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Prior experience working directly with families and community resources is required.
- Skills: Strong communication, organization, cultural sensitivity, and Microsoft SharePoint experience.
- Certifications: Must have a current driver’s license, Infant/Pediatric CPR certification, and a current WI Registry account.
Nice to Have
- A current WI Registry account.
- Infant/Pediatric CPR certification.
- Up-to-date certifications (or willingness to obtain/renew) in: OSHA, Civil Rights, Mandated Reporter, and Abusive Head Trauma.
