About This Role

Family Forum, Inc. is hiring for a support staff member role in Superior. Compensation is $15.35 – $16.38/Hr. Candidates need a willingness to earn a CDA, with full program support provided.


Are you passionate about giving infants and toddlers the best start in life? We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Teacher to join our Early Head Start team. In this role, you won’t just be watching over children; you will be a vital part of their developmental journey, supporting their health, nutrition, and early education in a safe and nurturing environment.


The Impact You’ll Make

As an Assistant Teacher, you will work hand-in-hand with the Lead Teacher and Center Manager to implement a high-quality educational program. You will build meaningful relationships with families, document milestones, and ensure every child feels safe, seen, and supported.


Start date: Expected August 17th

What You'll Do

Classroom Excellence (60%)

  • Facilitate Growth: Implement developmentally appropriate activities that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and social-emotional skills.
  • Observe & Document: Track children’s progress and behaviors to help identify strengths and growth areas.
  • Create a Sanctuary: Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized classroom (including laundry and equipment) that meets all safety standards.
  • Collaborate: Work with special needs staff to implement goals and welcome parent volunteers into the classroom.

Family Point of Contact: Handle hand-offs to authorized adults and communicate with families during transit.

Documentation & Professionalism (10%)

  • Keep Records: Assist in maintaining accurate electronic and written files, including assessments and anecdotal observations.
  • Grow Your Skills: Attend training and professional development sessions to stay at the forefront of early childhood education.

Requirements

Education & Certifications:

  • Required: High School Diploma/GED and progress toward an Associate Degree in ECE or an Infant/Toddler CDA.
  • CDA Requirement: Must obtain an Infant/Toddler CDA within second year of hire (and maintain credentials through 2028).
  • Safety: Must have (or obtain within 30 days) Pediatric CPR/First Aid certification
  • Compliance: Ability to pass a full background check, health screening, and Central Background Registry enrollment.

Skills & Physical Requirements:

  • Physical Agility: Ability to sit on the floor, kneel, and bend frequently. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and move quickly to ensure child safety.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) skills are a major plus!
  • Energy: High energy and a "team-player" mentality are essential for success in this fast-paced environment.
