Floater/Afterschool Teacher
About This Role
First Baptist Child Development Cen in North Myrtle Beach, SC is hiring a Floater/Afterschool Teacher to support daily operations at an early childhood education center. This position offers $15 – $18/Hr and requires a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential preferred.
This is a varied position for someone who enjoys working with children of different ages and is willing to assist wherever needed. During the first half of the day, the Floater/Afterschool Teacher will provide support throughout the center. In the afternoon, the position transitions to leading and supervising our school-age group. On days when public schools are closed, this employee will work with the school-age children for the full day.
What You'll Do
Substitute in classrooms with children of various ages
Assist teachers and provide classroom support
Help with light cleaning, organizing, and preparing materials
Provide general support with the daily needs of the center
Supervise school-age children during the afternoon program
Plan and lead age-appropriate activities for the school-age class
Maintain a safe, positive, and engaging environment
Work with the school-age children throughout the day when public schools are closed
Requirements
Minimum of 6 months of professional child care experience.
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
GED or High School Diploma
Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
A strong understanding of early childhood development.
Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
Must be willing to work 40 hours a week.
Enjoys working with children of different ages
Is flexible and willing to help wherever needed
Is dependable, patient, organized, and able to take initiative
Is comfortable working in a Christian childcare environment
Nice to Have
Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
A.A. in Early Childhood Education
