Toddler Lead Teacher

What You'll Do

Create and maintain a warm, safe, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment.

Plan and implement daily activities that support toddlers’ social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development.

Follow an age-appropriate curriculum and adapt activities to meet individual children’s needs.

Establish consistent daily routines, including meals, naps, diapering/toileting, and transitions.

Supervise children at all times and maintain appropriate health and safety standards.

Observe and document children’s developmental progress and communicate observations with families and administration.

Build positive, respectful relationships with children, parents, and caregivers.

Communicate regularly with families regarding children’s daily activities, development, behavior, and needs.

Guide children’s behavior using positive and developmentally appropriate techniques.

Maintain accurate classroom records, attendance, lesson plans, and required documentation.

Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and other staff to ensure consistent classroom practices.

Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom environment.

Follow all center policies, licensing requirements, health and safety regulations, and emergency procedures.

Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and other center activities.

Serve as a positive role model for children and other classroom staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; early childhood education coursework or degree preferred.
• Previous experience working with toddlers or young children.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching practices.
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom-management skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a teaching team.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Ability to meet all childcare licensing and background-check requirements.

Nice to Have

• Have or working towards a CDA or above
• Familiarity with ProCare
• An understanding of child development.
• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
