Job Description
The Preschool Director manages daily operations, ensures safety and state licensing compliance, leads staff, and fosters a Christian, nurturing environment. Key duties include curriculum development, student enrollment, budget management, and communication with parents and church leadership. This role requires a blend of administrative, educational, and spiritual leadership skills. They are responsible for maintaining the center's mission and vision, fostering a positive faith-based culture, and promoting staff professional growth.
Typical Working Conditions
- Full-time, with potential for some weekend or evening commitments for events.
- Often involves a hybrid of office work and time spent in classrooms supporting teachers and interacting with children.
- Required to be on-call during business hours.

What You'll Do
Key Responsibilities | Core Duties
- Administration & Operations: Oversees day-to-day operations, maintains compliance with safety/licensing standards, manages budgets, handles enrollment, and keeps accurate records.
- Leadership & Staff Management: Hires, trains, and supervises staff, conducts performance reviews, and organizes professional development workshops.
- Curriculum & Spiritual Growth: Develops and implements a faith-based curriculum (e.g., Biblical principles) that aligns with the school and church's mission/vision.
- Family & Community Relations: Serves as the primary contact for parents, manages marketing for recruitment, conducts tours, and maintains strong communication.
- Church Liaison: Reports to church pastor, attending meetings and aligning the preschool with the church's overall goals.
Requirements
Experience | Essential Skills
- Education: Associates degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field.
- Experience: Two (2) years experience in a licensed childcare setting, including classroom experience and staff management.
- Faith Alignment: A demonstrated, active Christian faith, a strong commitment to the school and church's mission and a passion for teaching children in a Christian environment.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain).

- Prepare and assist with mealtimes, nap times, and cleaning.
Administrative & Leadership Support
- Oversee daily operations and ensure smooth classroom transitions.
- Effectively communicate with staff and parents, and foster positive relationships.
- Help maintain attendance records, incident reports, and compliance documentation as required by childcare regulations.
- Create schedules and events that support staff needs and enhance overall program quality.
- Uphold faith-based values and help integrate Christian teachings into daily activities.
- Work alongside teachers to create a positive, engaging, and Christ-centered learning environment.
- Model and encourage professionalism, patience, and empathy when interacting with children and families.
- Plan staff meetings, professional development, and special events as needed.
