Assistant Preschool Teacher
About This Role
We are looking for a committed Preschool aide, with a high school diploma/GED and the DCF 45 hours introductory training and SR training requirements or willing to obtain within 90 days of start date. The Preschool Aide works closely with the lead teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and orderly classroom environment. The aide supports the teacher with daily classroom routines, student needs, lesson preparation, cleaning, and supervision while following the classroom and school schedule. The aide should be attentive, dependable, and willing to anticipate and meet the needs of the students and teacher without always being asked. The Preschool Aide is expected to work cooperatively with staff, participate in required training and school activities, and responsibly care for classroom materials, equipment, and supplies.
What You'll Do
- Provide individualized instruction to each child by promoting interactive learning.
- Preparing materials for the lessons according to the Lead Teachers plans.
- Maintain a tidy and orderly classroom.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents and participate in regular meetings.
- Plan and execute educational in-class and outdoor activities and events.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED
- DCF 45 hours introductory training or willing to obtain within 90 days of start date
- SR training requirements or willing to obtain within 90 days of start date
- Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the school's policies and procedures.
