About This Role
We are seeking a dedicated and versatile individual to join our team. This is a dual role as an Early Learning Support Teacher and Kitchen Care assistant. In this position, you will play a vital part in ourprogram's daily operations by supporting classroom teachers in creating a nurturing educational environment while also ensuring our students receive nutritious, safely prepared meals. This role is perfect for someone who loves working with young children and takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment.
What You'll Do
Assist lead teachers with classroom management, daily activities, and implementing early childhood curriculum.
Provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children during play, learning, and rest times.
Prepare, portion, and serve healthy breakfasts, lunches, and snacks according to nutritional guidelines and allergy restrictions.
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing inventory.
Monitor children's behavior and development, reporting progress or concerns to the lead teacher and center director.
Ensure compliance with all local health department regulations and childcare licensing standards.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Washington State Food Worker Card (or willingness to obtain before starting).
Ability to pass a portable background check through the Washington Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF).
Valid CPR, First Aid, and Bloodborne Pathogens certification.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
Nice to Have
Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or initial Washington State ECE Certificate.
Previous experience in commercial food preparation or school kitchen settings.
Knowledge of USDA Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines.
