School Age Child Care Manager

This School Age Child Care Manager role at Great Bay Kids in Exeter, NH offers $50,000 – $54,000/Yr to an experienced early childhood education professional ready to lead staff, curriculum, and compliance.
The School Age Child Care Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school age program at Great Bay Kids. This includes enrollment management, licensing compliance, staff coordination, program planning, expansion efforts, and serving as a key liaison for families, schools, and internal staff. This position ensures a high-quality, safe, and engaging environment for children in our school age care out of school time and summer programs.
What You'll Do
Enrollment Management
- Maintain target enrollment numbers in accordance with program goals.
- Enroll new children and ensure all enrollment documents are current and complete.
- Regularly update children’s schedules and attendance records.
Licensing and Compliance
- Oversee annual renewal of children’s files, including registration forms, physicals, immunizations, and other required documentation.
- Manage the renewal process for state and local licensing.
- Coordinate staff CPR/First Aid certifications and fingerprinting.
- Maintain accurate records of all staff certifications and monitor expiration dates.
Staff Coordination
- Develop and manage staff schedules to ensure appropriate coverage.
- Support the hiring process, including recruiting, onboarding, and orientation of new staff.
- Coordinate with the administrative team regarding staff time-off requests and share staffing needs with the center.
Program Operations
- Collect, evaluate and support site director curriculum plans
- Organize and coordinate field trips and enrichment opportunities.
- Develop and monitor behavior plans and classroom management strategies.
- Act as the primary point of contact for all school-age partner organizations including school staff, superintendents, and behavior support specialists
- Serve as a primary liaison with families regarding registration questions and conflict resolution as needed.
- Support site directors in creating and distributing program newsletters
- Provide classroom coverage as needed to maintain ratios and support center operations.
- Order and maintain supplies for the school-age program and the center.
- Monitor and maintain the classroom and program budget.
- Participate as a representative on Exeter’s EOPS (Extended Opportunities for Professional Support) team.

Stakeholder Relations
- Keep in touch with community partners and ensure positive, constructive relationships
- Manage Memorandum of Understanding process with partners to retain programs and formalize partnership
- Lead expansion efforts of school-age department by thinking critically about where programs can expand to, reaching out proactively to potential partners, and staying in tune with childcare trends and opportunities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field and a minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a childcare, or primary school setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. require.
- Experience with ProCare and New Hampshire Connections preferred.
- Leadership and crisis management: Ability to lead and motivate staff while remaining calm and composed during emergencies or challenging situations.
- Organizational skills: Strong ability to multitask, manage multiple priorities, and maintain meticulous records.
- Business acumen: Knowledge of business management, budgeting, and marketing to ensure the financial sustainability of the center.
- Communication and interpersonal skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with children, parents, and staff.
- Problem-solving: Ability to quickly and effectively resolve conflicts and address challenges that may arise.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift a maximum of 50 pounds to assist with classroom duties or move equipment.
- Sufficient agility and mobility to supervise and interact with young children in a variety of indoor and outdoor settings.
- Capability to use office equipment, including a computer for extended periods, and possess visual and auditory acuity to ensure a safe environment.
- Continual talking, hearing/listening, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as reaching with hands and arms.
