What You'll Do
What You'll Do
- Plan and lead fun, educational, and recreational daily activities
- Supervise children and ensure a safe environment at all times
- Help students with homework
- Communicate daily with parents about student progress and events
- Manage classroom routines and guide positive student behavior
- Coordinate program supplies, schedules, and assistant staff
Requirements
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; college credits in education or child development preferred
- Minimum of six-months to one year of experience working with school-age children in a group setting
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Pass a state background check, health screening and drug screening
- Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

- Degree in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, or related field
- Experience supervising or mentoring assistant teachers and staff
- Knowledge of local Chesapeake community resources and schools
- Valid driver license with a clean driving record for school pickup & field trips
