Child Care Consultant
About This Role
We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Childcare Consultant to join our team in Northeast Oklahoma and work remotely. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting childcare programs by providing guidance on curriculum planning, health and safety practices, and strategies for keeping children engaged. We provide services in 11 counties and require some travel.
What You'll Do
- Work as a team in implementing program goals, objectives, and work plan of the R&R program with the service area.
- Ensure that training is implemented in the SDA of R&R program.
- Provide technical assistance and on-site visits to Child Care Centers and Homes.
- Maintain the mobile resource materials.
- Provide periodic TA reports and assist in development of quarterly reports for the Regional Director
- Operate, maintain, and update the database system appointed by the state to track consultant training, coaching and TA.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the child care resources available to providers and parents in the designated counties.
- Attend community meetings as needed with input from the Regional Director.
- Develop resource and referral information brochures, newsletters, press releases, and public presentations to disseminate as required by management.
- Develop, plan, and implement trainings as often as needed according to Regional Progress Assessment.
- Recruit and mentor child care providers as requested with emphasis in underserved areas.
- Attend community resource meetings in the SDA.
- Maintain community awareness of child care issues and relationships with agencies and businesses in the community.
- Assist in the licensing procedures for Family Child Care Homes and Centers as requested by potential providers.
- Provide input and articles for scheduled R&R newsletters.
- Attend local, state, regional, and national meetings/training as needed.
- Work as a team to ensure that all requirements of OPSR and Ivy Learning program contracts are met.
- Other duties as designated by the Regional Director or Executive Director.
Requirements
A bachelor's degree is required along with knowledge and/or experience in early care and education and/or child development.
