What You'll Do

Key Responsibilities and Tasks:

1. Assist with day-to-day operations, including setup and cleanup.
2. Work with students at their individual pace, tailoring support to meet their unique needs and abilities.
3. Collaborate with colleagues to develop lesson plans aligned with child development best practices.
4. Implement and lead lesson plans in a supportive, inclusive environment.
5. Attend required meetings and training sessions, staying up-to-date on the latest child development research and best practices.
6. Evaluate the program's effectiveness and contribute to ongoing improvement.
7. Maintain a positive, respectful approach to discipline, encouraging self-control and self-esteem in each child.
8. Participate in workshops and conferences to enhance professional skills and stay current with licensing requirements.
9. Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:       

High School diploma or GED required.

1. Previous experience in school-age care is preferred
2. Must meet all state licensing requirements.
3. Satisfy all district requirements with regard to physical health and citizenship.
4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
5. Ability to work collaboratively with others.
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills and basic computer proficiency.
7. Complete 20 hours of professional development annually.

Regular Requirements: Stand for extended periods; sit for extended periods; twist at the neck and trunk; bend at the waist; stoop, kneel, crouch; lift/move up to 20 pounds; handle objects and tools with hands; repetitive use of fingers and hands.
