What You'll Do
Kiddie Academy of Rocky Hill is looking for an full-time Assistant Director. This role supports the Center Director in overseeing daily operations, including supervising/managing staff, ensuring classroom coverage, and maintaining compliance with state licensing and academy policies. The Assistant Director will help manage enrollment, conduct tours for prospective families, and serve as a primary point of contact for parent inquiries and concerns. Daily responsibilities include supporting curriculum implementation, monitoring child safety and well-being, coordinating schedules, and assisting with staff training and performance feedback. The role also involves maintaining documentation, overseeing health and safety procedures, and contributing to a positive, professional culture for children, families, and team members.
Requirements
- Experience in early childhood education or childcare administration, with a strong understanding of child development and age-appropriate curriculum.
- Leadership and team management skills, including the ability to supervise staff, provide coaching, and foster a collaborative work environment.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to handle scheduling, documentation, and day-to-day center operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with children, families, and colleagues in a respectful, professional manner.
- Knowledge of state licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and best practices in early childhood care and education.
- Ability to resolve conflicts, address concerns, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Comfort with basic computer applications and childcare management systems for recordkeeping and communication.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field preferred;
