Linda's House Pediatric Day Care & Preschool is hiring for a support staff member role in Putnam. Compensation is $17 – $19.50/Hr. Candidates need a willingness to earn a CDA, with full program support provided.
Seeking part - time , Year-Round Floating Nature Assistant Teacher for new nature-based child care center in Putnam, CT.
We are expanding our high quality and affordable early childhood education to families living in the Northeast Corner of CT. Our nature-based program is for children ages 6 weeks old - 6 years old. In this position we are looking for a candidate to work with children ages 6 weeks - 24 months.

What You'll Do
- Minimum of 1 year of assistant teaching experience or strong passion for nature based education, the arts and sciences, or related fields
- Teaching groups of children in traditional and non-traditional settings.
- Whole classroom setting experience preferred
- Willing to work outdoors in all types of weather
- Capacity to adjust and respond to new conditions and circumstances
- Work collaboratively with others in the classroom
- Participate in training opportunities as directed by the classroom teacher, curriculum coordinator, or center director
- Perform all duties and responsibilities related to an early childhood classroom
- Assist students with daily living skills required
- Assist teacher in nature-based programming outdoors across all four seasons in all weather conditions.
- Work directly with teachers and administrators to ensure that programs are delivered at a high level, with a focus on developmentally appropriate activities.
- Ability to be a dynamic team member working in a collaborative education setting.
- Model professional, ethical and safe behavior for staff, volunteers, and program participants.
- When requested, maintain program properties and materials including infrastructure, gear, program materials, and bathroom facilities.
- Attend staff meetings and training's throughout the program year.
- Class mentorship from Teachers and Curriculum Coordinator.
- Communicate with families consistently throughout the program year.
- Contribute to program curriculum and student evaluations.

- Demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and ability to “think outside the box”
- Capable of walking on uneven, hilly ground, through snow and cold and rainy weather.
- Capable of carrying 40 lbs outdoors.
- Minimum age of 18 years old.
- Must pass a background check conducted through the Connecticut Office of Early Childhood BCIS agency.

- Training and experience with special needs and at-risk children, helpful but not required
- Proficient with Pro Care app
