Pre-school Room Teacher

What You'll Do

Responsibilities

• Supervise and care for preschool children ages 3–5 years old
• Plan and implement weekly curriculum and age-appropriate educational activities
• Teach basic early learning skills including letters, numbers, colors, shapes, writing, and social skills
• Encourage learning through hands-on activities, art, music, sensory play, story time, and outdoor play
• Prepare children for kindergarten by promoting independence, listening skills, and positive classroom behavior
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment
• Monitor and document children’s progress and development
• Communicate professionally with parents regarding daily activities, behavior, and developmental progress
• Assist children with bathroom routines and personal care needs when necessary
• Take children outdoors daily for playground time, walks, and educational outdoor activities when weather permits
• Follow all childcare licensing regulations and center policies
• Lift and carry children and classroom items up to 40 pounds
• Perform other duties and assigned tasks as requested by the Center Director

Requirements

Qualifications

• Experience working with preschool-age children preferred
• Passion for early childhood education and child development
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Creative, patient, dependable, and able to work well with others
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to pass required background checks
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Ability to bend, kneel, sit on the floor, and actively participate in classroom activities throughout the day
• Ability to supervise children both indoors and outdoors
