Early Childhood - Floating Teacher Assistant

What You'll Do

• Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
• Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Help ensure smooth, daily transition from home to school.
• Follow all center policies, Head Start Performance Standards, and state regulations.
• Assist with transporting children to or from school on a school bus.
• Participate in family-style meals with the children.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• In kitchen, assist with preparing/serving meals; cleaning dishes; cleaning tables and floors after meals.

Requirements

• High energy.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• An understanding of child development..
• Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
• Willing to take necessary trainings (ex: pediatric CPR and first aid)

Nice to Have

Associate Degree in Early Childhood or Preschool CDA Certificate required OR be willing to enroll in a program working towards earning an associate degree in Early Childhood or the Preschool CDA Certificate.
