Half-Day Preschool Assistant Teacher
About This Role
Master’s Garden Preschool is seeking a part-time Half-Day Preschool Assistant Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year, beginning in August 2026. This position supports the Lead Teacher in providing Christ-centered care, supervision, and engaging learning experiences for preschool-aged children in our Half-Day program. The Half-Day program follows the Orange County Schools calendar for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a part-time, school-year position with a schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM–1:00 PM, with holidays and summers off.

What You'll Do
- Assist the Lead Teacher with the daily operation of the Half-Day preschool classroom
- Help provide a warm, caring, and engaging classroom environment
- Support children through daily activities, play, learning, and creative exploration
- Encourage children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development
- Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and healthy classroom environment
- Follow classroom safety and sanitation procedures at all times
- Assist with classroom routines, transitions, and supervision of children
- Support curriculum activities and help create meaningful, developmentally appropriate learning experiences
- Provide extra support and care for individual children as needed
- Partner with families in a positive and encouraging manner
- Model respectful, loving, and Christ-centered behavior toward children, families, and co-workers
- Participate in classroom planning and team collaboration
- Attend staff meetings and training as requested
- Assist with other preschool duties as directed by the Lead Teacher or Director
- Arrive on time and consistently follow the established work schedule
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Genuine interest in early childhood development
- Understanding of basic safety and sanitation practices
- Strong communication skills with tact, patience, and kindness
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to maintain a positive, caring, and professional attitude
- Must be a follower of Jesus Christ, seeking to live under His Lordship
- Must support the mission of Master’s Garden Preschool and Christian education
Nice to Have
- Previous experience working with preschool-aged children
- Experience in a childcare, preschool, or classroom setting
- Familiarity with developmentally appropriate practices
- Experience working in a Christian school or ministry setting
