What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive physical education curriculum for elementary and middle school students that promotes physical fitness, motor skills development, and positive attitudes toward physical activity.
- Plan and facilitate engaging and developmentally appropriate lessons and activities that cater to the diverse needs and abilities of students.
- Teach fundamental movement skills, coordination, teamwork, and sportsmanship through a variety of sports and recreational activities.
- Incorporate health and wellness education into the curriculum, addressing topics such as nutrition, personal hygiene, and the benefits of an active lifestyle.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation, cooperation, and respect among students.
- Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to support individual growth and skill development.
- Collaborate with colleagues to integrate physical education concepts across the curriculum and promote interdisciplinary learning opportunities.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Health Education, Exercise Science, or a related field.
- State teaching certification in Physical Education (Grades K-8) or eligibility for certification.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development principles and best practices in physical education instruction.
- Previous teaching experience at the elementary and/or middle school level preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and motivate students.

Benefits
Compensation and Benefits
$55,000 base salary per pay scale depending on experience and degrees.
Benefits package available for full-time employees in accordance with school policy.
