Lead Montessori Teacher
About This Role
We are looking for a Primary (3-6yo) Lead Guide for the 2026-2027 school year. Candidates should hold Children’s House/Primary/EC certification from a MACTE-accredited training center or have established experience leading a classroom with young children and be dedicated to begin training. We are looking for individuals who will be committed to upholding Montessori techniques and philosophy while supporting colleagues and families with an emphasis on collaboration and support. Hours are M-F, 8-3 for the academic year (early August-early June) with summers contracted separately. There may be some flexibility to start during the summer based on need.

What You'll Do
- preparation and maintenance of classroom, curriculum and materials
- ensuring all licensing standards are met, especially correct staff-to-child ratios and maintenance of sight and sound regulations
- documentation of lessons given and documentation of classroom observations
- planning and collaboration with other MSC teachers
- regular communication with families, including but not limited to weekly emails, Parent Education meetings, Parent/Teacher conferences, documentation of any academic or behavioral issues, etc.
- support and mentor-ship of colleagues using Montessori training and experience
- attendance at regular staff meetings and teacher work days
- creation of and following through with personal goals for professional development/maintenance of Montessori certification
- participation in self-evaluation process
- awareness of and willingness to honor confidentiality
- creation and maintenance of the classroom and the school as a safe and respectful space for children and adults
- on-time arrival and mindfulness of absences to minimize their effect on the children
Requirements
- Montessori certification at the Primary/3-6/Early Childhood level from a MATCE-accredited training center or willingness to begin training before school starts
- strong understanding of Montessori Philosophy and practice to support classroom curriculum
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- classroom management experience
- previous Montessori experience
Nice to Have
- gardening/sewing/art experience
- ability to play a musical instrument
