About This Role
Newman Catholic Early Childhood Center: St. Michael in Wausau, WI is seeking a qualified 4K Teacher to work with Preschool (3–5) in a school-based pre-k environment. This position requires a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and dedicated 4K Teacher to join our early childhood team. In this role, you will create a nurturing, play-based environment that fosters the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth of four-year-old learners. You will design engaging curricula, build strong partnerships with families, and lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning.

What You'll Do
- Instruction: Plan and deliver high-quality, play-based lessons aligned with early learning standards.
- Environment: Maintain a safe, clean, inclusive, and stimulating classroom that encourages independent exploration.
- Assessment: Monitor child development through observation, portfolio documentation, and formal screening tools.
- Partnership: Lead parent-teacher conferences and provide regular communication regarding student progress.
- Leadership: Supervise, guide, and collaborate effectively with a classroom assistant or co-teacher.
- Compliance: Ensure all classroom activities meet state licensing regulations and school board policies.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a closely related field.
- Licensure: Hold (or be eligible for) a valid Wisconsin DPI Early Childhood teaching license.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 years teaching in a preschool, 4K, or kindergarten setting preferred.
- Certifications: Current certification in Pediatric CPR, AED, and First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
- Skills: Strong communication, active listening, conflict resolution, and classroom management abilities.
